Well, firstly let me apologise for the lack of updates again!! I think i have been sailing a relaxing a bit too much over here! Anyway down to business!! It was super windy when we first arrived which was great after the total nightmare we had to get here! Myself, Andre Paskowski (Zee German) Tyson Poor (Yanky) Kevin Mevissen (Goldmember) Phil Soltysiak (Somewhere called Canada?!) Jakub Kosmoski (Polsky) have sailed for the last 10 days and we have had about 30 triple boardbags on our balcony!! We sailed on 4.2 everyday up until a few days ago when it dropped to 4.7!! Everyone is sailing good and bad which is standard for Fuerte. Learned some nice new moves though like aerial sail and body 360’s etc!!! (check pic!)
The moves seem to be the same as last year just much bigger and faster, lots of double moves. The slalom is on at the moment, which is good to watch for a few minutes but then your attention quickly goes back to the freestyle action!!! As soon as someone gets their video camera out we will get some good action for you. Also Jon Parker is here now to take some pics, so there is more too come for sure!!!
Cheers

Well after many days of competing i have ended up in 14th place after this first competition in Lanzarote. I am pretty pleased as my goal was top 16. I am off to Fuerte tomorrow to train for the next event. I will put a full summary of the event on in a few days once i am settled in Fuerte. Apologies for the lack of updates, its just internet time is pretty limited round here.
Cheers

So, Day 1 is over and done with and we managed to finish a whole double elimination of freestyle. There were many surprises and quite a few upsets in the single elimination. I advanced through my heat against Jakub Kosmoski from Poland. We both sailed an absolute shocker!! The waves and the wind picked up during the heat and for some reason I felt compelled to try a back loop!! What Muppet! I just about managed to link up a few moves but nothing special. Luckily for me Jakub also sailed a bad heat.
