Among the types of polymer being studied to be reinforced with CNT is the ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers, which was studied by Ruan et al. . The UHMWPE fibers have found many applications, such as ballistic-resistant garments and nautical sea ropes. The experimental studies by Ruan et al. g. Kevlar and Carbon). In the present work, we study the effect of the CNT on the elastic modulus of UHMWPE. The micromechanics based Mori–Tanaka is employed in modeling the effective elastic properties of CNT reinforced composites, which is presented in Sec.
